The Fabric Garden
Walking into The Fabric Garden is like walking into a country store. We wanted a warm and friendly feel to the store, so we display our goods using out-of-the-ordinary shelving and old pieces of furniture with lots of character and a few antiques sprinkled throughout. We have quality fabrics, quilting supplies, notions, unique patterns and books. We provide classes for the beginner, intermediate, or more experienced sewing enthusiast. Come by to shop, visit, or take a scheduled class to learn new skills or to brush up on your own sewing skills! We are close to Starbucks, Carl's Jr., Hollywood Video, Wal-Mart, State Farm Insurance, Walgreens, Longs, Albertsons, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jack-in-the-Box, Round Table Pizza, Quizno's, Autozone, Washington Mutual Savings and Union Bank of California. The Apple Valley Town Hall, Police/Fire Dept. & Library are nearby, within close walking distance. Super Target and Lowe's are now open across the highway.
The Fabric Garden opened in 2006 in Unit #175 of the Historic Apple Valley Inn, which is located just east of Wal-Mart at the intersection of Happy Trails Highway (State Highway 18) and Dale Evans Parkway. The storied Inn was once a getaway for Hollywood's most famous actors and actresses. The Inn was owned by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans in the early 1950s. The building that housed the original Roy Rogers Museum still stands across the street. The calm ambiance of the area is undeniable, and one feels a profound relaxative state while at the Inn. In 2007, The Fabric Garden moved a few steps west to Unit #194, in a beautiful location and larger facility. While visiting, enjoy an awesome view of the famous Newt Bass "house on the hill." This is a landmark that can be seen from quite a distance as you head towards our shop.
The Fabric Garden offers many different styles of fabrics, including 1800s-and-up reproduction and novelty fabrics, representing many fabric companies and designers. We try to carry a little bit of something for everyone! The Fabric Garden offers several discounts, including discounts for Quilt Guild members and "seasoned" citizens.
